Ukash Prepaid MasterCard® to launch on FD Affiliate Network

We’re very pleased to welcome another big name in emerging payments to the Fifth Dimension e-money affiliate network: the Ukash Prepaid MasterCard.

The Ukash Prepaid MasterCard comes in two flavours: physical and virtual. The physical card’s perfect for shopping in-store and online – anywhere that MasterCard is accepted – whereas the virtual card is the best route to instant online spending, ready for use immediately after sign-up.

The new  Ukash Prepaid MasterCard launches on Fifth Dimension’s affiliate network

Cardholders who sign up for the physical card get a free virtual card to use online while they’re waiting for their card to arrive; combine this with the free smartphone app which facilitates on-the-go top-ups and convenient account management, and the Ukash Prepaid MasterCard becomes an incredibly flexible and attractive product.

But it doesn’t end there: both card types are available in GBP, USD, EUR and PLN, nudging the Ukash Prepaid MasterCard squarely into specialist travel-money card territory. And with the added benefits of a free secondary card and easy transfers between Ukash cardholders, the Ukash Prepaid MasterCard is perfect for sending money to friends and family.

The Ukash Prepaid MasterCard is live in the UK with a Q1 launch in Italy, France, Spain and Poland, with the support of Fifth Dimension’s dedicated e-money affiliate network.

For more information on the Ukash Prepaid MasterCard affiliate programme, or to become an affiliate, please apply via our website.

Not another award nomination!!

The finalists of the 2013 Prepaid and Emerging Payments Awards have been announced and Fifth Dimension is delighted to be shortlisted for Best Service Provide.

It's been an interesting year for both the industry and Fifth Dimension - we're seeing a significant growth in the mobile POS market with an abundance of new entrants such as PayPal and WorldPay joining the likes of iZettle, mPowa and Payleven - but with such similar propositions, one issue for users will be how to choose between them?

As a company we've developed our affiliate business, driving more sales for clients than larger affiliate networks in UK, Germany, Austria and Italy.

But while new customers is an obvious welcome, this is worth little without being able to grow the value in your customer base and build the customer lifetime value. We see too few programmes really tackle this and as a result feel this is an area where we can really help our clients, through data insight, clear segmentation and good CRM.

It's this combination of driving customer acquisition and developing profitable programmes that has resulted in our most recent nomination. We're proud to have been shortlisted again and are looking forward to the awards dinner on the 2nd October at London's Lancaster Hotel. We hope to see friends there and wish our clients, colleagues and all who entered the awards, success on the night.

The Times: Exporting services in Europe

The Times newspaper today continued it’s Small Business section with an article on SME’s entitled “Deal with the world without leaving your doorstep” which looked at small companies that are exporting services overseas.

Managing Director, Phil Campbell was featured in the article as approx 75% of Fifth Dimension’s work is now with European clients. While the company has always worked for clients overseas ranging from Oman to N.America this has grown exponentially in recent years as we work on projects in Austria, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Italy and Spain.

This growth has come from a clear strategy which limited our focus on Europe, as reaching further afield was unrealistic. We look to service that market by employing European account managers within our team and we utilise technology to ensure that we can work locally in markets efficiently and cost effectively.

We look forward to working with more clients across Europe in the future.

Note: the interview carried out by Phil Campbell was done via Skype, while working in France

Fifth Dimension named in 2012 Prepaid Awards

Today, the finalists for the 2012 Prepaid Awards were announced and we’re delighted that for the second year running, Fifth Dimension has been nominated in the Best Service Provider category.

Fifth Dimension nominated in Prepaid Awards 2012
The Prepaid 2012 Awards, sponsored by Ukash are now in their 6th year and celebrate the best in the prepaid industry in the UK and Europe. Although primarily aimed at card, gift and wallet programmes, the Best Service Provider seeks to reward companies that support the industry in some form. At Fifth Dimension we believe we have an important role to promote prepaid and to help educate the consumer, particularly in the light of what we see as lazy journalism that simply highlights the negatives of a single fee, without discussing the overall benefit that might have been gained. At this time of increasing distrust in the traditional banking sector, the prepaid industry needs to step up and present itself as an alternative banking solution that is more consumer friendly, transparent and dynamic.

In the past year we have continued to promote market leading prepaid card, Kalixa as well as winning new clients – watch this space for announcements about new European programmes we are launching. We have also introduced a European wide affiliate network dedicated to the prepaid and e-money sector.

We won’t know the results until the awards dinner on 11th October 2012, being held at the Lancaster Hotel, London – but we’ll be there and keeping our fingers firmly crossed

Until then, we we’ll continue to keep striving to serve the payments, prepaid and e-money industry.

A few words make all the difference...

As an agency we work hard to deliver on our client’s requirements – this regularly goes above and beyond the original brief. We take satisfaction in the end result and of course, getting paid for this work.

But while that is sufficient reward, it is extremely special when we receive an email that includes a comment like this:
“Just wanted to drop you a line to say how amazing the new portal looks and acts. So many over here are more than impressed with the design, the ease of use and how much different their experience is with this, than with the previous site. So congratulations on all the hard work you put in to making this site a roaring success."
We recently upgraded a client’s site to EPiServer CMS6 R2 – and after 5 months of hard work, the site went live today – and this was the result. We’ll update you with a more detailed case study soon.

Your Opinion: Should a client brief for a new website always include a budget?

As an agency, we have received hundreds of briefs over the years for all sorts of projects, in particular website development. The quality of the brief can vary immensely which in turn, impacts our response greatly ranging from the time we need to spend on it, our enthusiasm for the project and perhaps most importantly, the quality of the information we give back to the client in the proposal. Given that digital development is our area of expertise, and not the clients, we feel this feedback is important to the client - it helps ensure they have an effective site, smooth project delivery and while i hate this term, delivers the ROI that will be measured internally by the client.

So here at Fifth Dimension we've decided to start summarising things that we feel would be invaluable to include in website briefs. Rather than simply preaching our viewpoint, we're going to start asking others, both clients and agencies alike, to offer their feedback on key questions so that we can offer a more rounded opinion. To kick things off, the thorny issue of budgets - should the client let the agency know what their new website budget is, or simply let the agency offer the best price?

There's arguments for both sides ...but rather than voice these now, we'd like to collect your opinion. Please vote on our Facebook poll, and / or give us your reasons for whichever viewpoint you subscribe to. We're also interested to know if you're a client or an agency.
