Fifth Dimension today rolled out a technical release for Kalixa.com, upgrading the content management system behind the prepaid MasterCard site to EPiServer CMS6 R2.
Upgrading Kalixa.com to EPiServer CMS6 R2 provides a foundation for new planned functionality during 2012 |
The upgrade to the latest release of EPiServer is in preparation for a packed 2012 which will see Vincento Payment Solutions launch Kalixa into a number of new European territories each quarter.
CMS6 R2 provides many new features to make management of the site more efficient; our particular favourites being those around version control. While it has always been easy to roll back a previous version of a page, it is now possible to compare page versions side by side on-screen with the changes highlighted for the editor.
Files are now managed with version control which not only ensures that editors do not mistakenly overwrite files but also provides an audit trail - especially useful for regulated industries. Some of the other nice editor focussed features include auto-save which ensures that you don’t lose the updates you had been making to a page if you lose internet connectivity, and the ability to check-out a page an inhibit others from making changes in-between publishing.
The full feature set for EPiServer CMS6 R2 will be covered in a separate, more detailed update – but having now delivered a number of sites in this latest edition, we at Fifth Dimension are extremely impressed.
As for Kalixa.com you will shortly see new functionality releases built on EPiServer CMS6 which include the use of website personalisation and a new mobile optimised site.
